Gender-based violence (GBV) is widespread in Nicaragua. Girls are frequently affected and often become pregnant at an early age. Together with our local partner organizations, we campaign for the rights of girls and women and improve young people’s access to health services .
Nicaragua has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Latin America, but access to health services to health services, counseling and support is limited for young people. With our partner organization MIRIAM we provide affected young people with improved access to health services and information on sexual and reproductive health, violence prevention and psychosocial support.
