Projects in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, young people often have little say. They suffer from the consequences of HIV/Aids, violence and abuse. Together with our local partner organizations we support survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), accompany young people affected by HIV and advocate for youth-friendly health services in schools and hospitals.

Strength through knowledge: Counseling and immediate help for young people

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a bitter reality for many young people in Zimbabwe, especially young women. Every third person before the age of 18 reports of abuse. Due to weak health and legal systems, these acts often go unpunished and the victims receive no support. With our partner organization Childline we offer a nationwide, free telephone helpline to provide telephone support, offer long-term help and prevention work.
