Since it became clear at the end of last year that the Barfüsserplatz was being rebuilt, the imagine team had to rethink. A new festival site had to be found. The young people made a virtue of necessity and so the imagine festival is starting this Friday in the harbor area. A place made for this event.
Only a few hours to go (5 pm tomorrow) and the imagine festival 2017 will start at a new location this year. The big festival will now take place in Holzpark Klybeck in Basel’s harbor area. In collaboration with the existing cultural and gastronomic institutions in Holzpark Klybeck, a diverse range of events will be held in a young, up-and-coming district. The festival once again shines with a rich and varied music program, which above all gives up-and-coming newcomers from Switzerland and abroad the opportunity to present themselves.
Remarkable achievement by young people
As always, we, terre des hommes schweiz, are very proud of the achievements of the young people who organize this highlight in Basel’s event calendar themselves. Although the annual imagine festival is not the only activity of our imagine project, with 30,000 visitors it is the most outstanding of all. It is impressive every year to see what the imagine team of young people can put together all by themselves.
Photo box for all
This year, terre des hommes schweiz will once again contribute to the colorful festival program with a stand. We have come up with something new for the popular photo box. What that is, we’ll leave open here. Under the festival motto “Discrimination restricts”, all visitors can have their own photo taken free of charge. We look forward to your visit!
